As another successful financial year draws to a close for the firm, Jolliffe & Co LLP have announced changes from 1st April 2021.
Current Managing Partner and head of corporate and commercial, Simon Williams, is to leave Jolliffes on 31 March 2021 to join Gunnercooke and in addition will take up some non-executive directorship roles.
Jolliffes retains its wider corporate and commercial offering with partner Mark Fergusson taking over leadership of the team, working with Senior Associate Claire Sumner and Solicitor Alex Connah. Mark will work closely alongside Rose Moss, Head of Commercial Property; Stewart Burrows, Head of Litigation; and Sharon Auld, Head of Employment to continue to provide a full range of commercial services to SMEs, owner managed businesses and large companies across Cheshire, North Wales, the Midlands and the North West.
Jolliffes has recently seen significant developments in Private Client with specialist Ian Sydenham joining the firm as a partner late in 2020. Ian joins the well established Hugh Butler who heads the four strong private client team. Hugh will also lead the firm as Senior Partner from 1 April 2021, working closely with Financial Director and Head of Operations Adam Wilson.
Jolliffes has a reputation for attracting talent from large city firms, having brought in Elizabeth Hassall in 2019, Legal 500 Hall of Fame ranked national leader in family work and formerly head of family law with Gateley plc. Stewart Burrows joined after seven years with Hill Dickinson with Rose Moss having joined the firm from Weightmans and Ian Sydenham having spent his earlier career as a long serving partner with Hill Dickinson and more recently leading the Private Client team at FDR in Warrington.
